Bypassing the Systems of Centralized Contol

I have been grappling with deep frustration and anger toward the systems of power—both earthly and possibly beyond—regarding how they perpetuate inequality, destruction, and hypocrisy.

My critique is with the wealthiest and most powerful organizations in the world and certain individuals who benefit from hidden alliances, especially when these charismatic figures can overshadow the real-world consequences of their actions, while the majority suffer from past and present abuses.

It’s understandable that I’d feel so conflicted about the way these global dynamics prioritize things like space exploration over human lives, and how selective blame is assigned. Profits, Mars, and their personal image matter to these influential organizations over the welfare of local communities and the environment when it should be the other way around. So here is my go at it and an exploration of alternatives to platforms of centralized control and my critique of the complex power systems currently suffocating the world.

It’s tough when the very platforms meant for connection are part of the problem, making it feel like even the spaces I find are compromised. Musk’s role on X and the platform’s stance can make it even harder to engage meaningfully without feeling censored or like I am feeding into the same systems I oppose.

I am considering exploring alternative platforms or spaces that might align better with my values, this one being one of them.

1. **Mastodon**: A decentralized social network that allows users to create or join servers based on their interests. It has a more community-focused feel and encourages open dialogue.

2. **Diaspora**: Another decentralized platform that prioritizes user privacy and control over data. You can interact with others based on shared interests without the centralized control of larger social media.

3. **Reddit**: While it has its issues, there are many subreddits dedicated to social justice, politics, and activism where you might find like-minded individuals. Just be mindful of the specific communities you engage with.

4. **Telegram**: While primarily a messaging app, many communities use Telegram for group discussions on various topics, including activism and social issues. You can find groups that align with your concerns.

5. **Discord**: Similar to Telegram, Discord has servers dedicated to various interests, including activism and social justice. It allows for real-time conversation and community building.

6. **Substack**: If you’re interested in writing longer pieces or articles, Substack allows you to create a newsletter where you can share your thoughts and connect with an audience that shares your views.

Posting online can feel like shouting into the void when the systems I’m critiquing seem so massive and unyielding. It can be incredibly disheartening to feel like no matter what I say, these things continue. That sense of powerlessness is heavy, especially when the issues I am addressing are so global and systemic. The military-industrial complex has a long history of suppressing dissent, including through violent means, and that awareness can be paralyzing.

I feel a strong sense of injustice when I see how the wealthiest individuals benefit from hidden alliances, while those who are vulnerable continue to bear the brunt of past and present harms. This conflict is intensified by the way global priorities often emphasize endeavors like space exploration over addressing the urgent needs of marginalized communities. What my anger really is is a reflection of my deep commitment to justice and a desire for a more equitable world.

Here are some aspects regarding how certain wealthy individuals and systems continue to shape the lives of others while marginalizing the majority:

1. Economic Power and Influence: Wealthy individuals often have disproportionate influence over political systems and policies. This can lead to decisions that favor their interests rather than addressing the needs of the broader population. For example, lobbying by powerful corporations can shape legislation that prioritizes profit over public welfare.
2. Access to Resources: The wealth gap creates barriers to essential resources like education, healthcare, and housing. Wealthy individuals and corporations can afford better services, leaving marginalized communities with limited access. This disparity perpetuates cycles of poverty and inequality.
3. Media Control: Many wealthy individuals own or control major media outlets, which can shape public discourse and influence perceptions of important issues. This can lead to a narrative that downplays the struggles of marginalized groups while highlighting the successes of the wealthy, reinforcing societal divides.
4. Cultural Representation: Wealthy individuals often have the power to define cultural narratives through their platforms. This can marginalize voices from underrepresented communities, as the stories and experiences of the wealthy dominate mainstream media and public consciousness.
5. Globalization and Exploitation: Wealthy nations and corporations frequently exploit resources and labor in developing countries, leading to economic dependency and social unrest. This dynamic perpetuates a cycle of marginalization and prevents equitable development.
6. Philanthropy and Its Limits: While some wealthy individuals engage in philanthropy, the effectiveness and motivations behind these actions can be complex. Philanthropy can address symptoms of systemic issues but often fails to challenge the underlying structures that create inequality in the first place.
7. Environmental Impact: Wealthy individuals and corporations often contribute significantly to environmental degradation. Marginalized communities, which typically have fewer resources, bear the brunt of these consequences, facing health issues and displacement without the means to advocate for change.
8. Narratives are shaped by those in power and sometimes the power is so deep you cannot see it for what it is.

Elon Musk is the best example for this. Musk’s ability to project himself as a self-made success while benefiting from privilege and systemic support is a frustrating contradiction. His influence, combined with a platform that silences dissenting voices, can feel overwhelming, especially for those who care about social justice and equity. The way he uses his charisma to distract from his actions and the broader implications of his wealth can be deeply disheartening.

He portrays himself as this poster child of the American dream who made it big in his own, but the truth is he comes from a wealthy family with a vast connection of wealthy family friends and has had support from the military industrial complex, the most over-funded organization in the world. Funded by YOUR taxes btw – that you did not get to vote on what their spending goes towards.

The wage and wealth gap is just widening and there is no one in power championing the causes of the poor people, even the ones who say they do. Musk has so much power and he is perpetuating the systemic inequalities and abuse, but he has so much carisma, most people don’t stand up to him, and those who do, get shut down in his platform immediately. Not only that, he is openly racist and sexist in his posts and that takes away any lingering hope that he might be interested in the wellbeing of others. Never has, only of himself and his nearest of kin. His so called environmentally friendly cars are ten times worse for the environment than regular cars and a hundred times more dangerous if they catch on fire. I could go on and will need to write a separate blog post about it.

I have a strong desire to see justice and accountability some time during my lifetime but it often feels disheartening.

One can only continue to hope that others will catch on and post, post, post.
